Improving Wireless Access is a Winning Experience
ExteNet Systems works with indoor and outdoor stadiums, arenas and entertainment venues to deliver improved access to wireless connectivity.
Venues need to provide customers, the media and employees better access to mobile communications throughout the facility.
Fans use smartphones and tablets to interact with friends inside and outside the stadium. The benefits for venue owners include satisfied ticketholders, more effective safety and emergency communications, ease of merchandise and concession purchases and potential increased revenue from mobile applications.
ExteNet Systems works with many indoor and outdoor stadiums and entertainment venues to deliver better access to wireless connectivity. For venues such as Navy Pier in Chicago and the Stadium at the University of Michigan, distributed networks for use by wireless carriers are improving the visitor experience.
Marlins Park Provided Connectivity by ExteNet’s DAS Coverage
Marlins Park officially opened on April 4, 2012 for Major League Baseball’s (MLB) opening night, when the St. Louis Cardinals faced off against the Miami Marlins in the 37,000 seat, 928,000 square foot stadium. With the installation of ExteNet’s Distributed Antenna System (DAS), the stadium is one of MLB’s most state-of-the-art facilities, enabling fans to stay connected before, during and after the game. With a retractable roof, which nullifies the threat of potential weather delays, the Marlins stadium is now promising its fans a superior game and multi-media experience.
“ExteNet has provided Marlins Park with the most comprehensive solution for wireless connectivity in our ballpark,” said Claude Delorme, Executive Vice President of Operations and Events, Miami Marlins. “Our fans’ experience at a game is of upmost importance and by adding wireless service to our ballpark, we give them convenient access to email, texting and applications, including live video streaming, which certainly adds to their experience at Marlins Park.”
As part of ExteNet’s open distributed network architecture and its interworking with wireless carriers to provide network coverage and capacity at these leading venues, T-Mobile and Verizon have been signed on to ExteNet’s distributed antenna system (DAS) solution to ensue seamless coverage for their subscribers.
